A Modern Poem about Digital Death is an interactive installation combining digital screen and analog sand to explore the intriguing concept of what remains after one's physical presence ceases to exist in this tech-mediated era. The artist aims to poetically present the contradicted simultaneity of ephemerality and permanence, digital and analog, hold on and let go shown in the features of postmodern death. The left data of the deceased could be mere clusters of codes, while it could also be an evolving personal projection shaped by the continuous engagement of the bereaved. The artist utilizes the self portrait as the main part of the narratives, which embodies the contemporary duality of death: the finite nature of physical existence against the potentially infinite, yet increasingly altered, digital presence.
